Description

This course meets the Norwegian Maritime Authority’s requirement to subject matters for 40 hours of methodical training in occupational safety, health and environment for seafarers (Ref. also to; ILOs (”International Labour Organisasjon”) Maritime Labour Convention (MLC)). Our HSE course is based on and meets MLC requirements. These requirements are incorporated into flag state legislations (NIS, UK, Isle of Man, Bahamas etc.). By ratifying a convention the states commit themselves to fulfill the conventions (state agrees to make it part of its own national legislation (and enforce it)).

The HSE course is developed by Jørn Tranvåg (ph.D), and has been evaluated by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate and meets the mandatory requirements set by the Norwegian Maritime Authorities for 40 hours of training in Occupational Safety and Health. Jørn is 59 years old and has experience from ship operation both offshore (chief engineer), and onshore. He has worked more than 10 years as a Ph.D cand. / assistant professor at a university-college, before he started his own company. Jørn has a Ph.D in safety management.

The e-learning course is presented and delivered by ASK Safety and Tranvåg Maritime AS.

Course certificate will be issued after course requirements have been met. The certificate should be kept on board and available for inspection by maritime authority.
