According to aquaculture regulations, everyone working with live fish need competence and training in fish welfare and it is the employer’s responsibility that the employees have this competence.
Having sufficient knowledge about the fish health is essential morally, ethical and economically. This knowledge ensure the fish health and development through its life time, and at the same time ensure economically growth and development both for the employer and the employees in the fish farming industry. The course comply for anyone that is to be working with production and transport of living fish in the fish farming industry. The course’s content is according to

- Operative regulations for aquaculture
- The Food Act
- The Animal Welfare Act
The e-learning course is interactive and contains images, text, videos and control questions after each chapter. It all ends up in a final examination. If you pass the exam, you will receive a digital course certificate as evidence of completed course.
The basic welfare course is to be updated when needed or at least every 5th
